A Prayer

Dear God,
I don’t know much about her
And I don’t know how You see her
But I know enough to understand
No mischief is in her essence

From my eyes,
She is like a lovely rainbow
The colours flawless in each row
Though at times they jumble up in the arch
When the sun is beaten by the dark

As lively as she is,
She is living in fear
Of shedding more tears
So she cuddles up alone
And bear everything on her own

So please God,
Anyone can tell and assure her
She’s not alone when things are harder
But only You can make her realise
She has caring hearts by her side

Dear God,
Lessen for her life’s blows and hits
Not because she is too weak to take it
Or not strong enough to survive the test
But simply because she deserves the best

She brings happiness, if not to others at least to me
So please God, shower her with joy as much as there can be.
